What is microburst?

A microburst is that, when a cumulonimbus cloud its mature stage strong downdrafts occur. Its speed may be up to 6.000 feet per minute. When the downdrafts hit the ground it spreads out in all directions and produce strong winds. A microbursts affecting an area 4 km diameter or less.
